  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 tablespoons butter, cubed and chilled
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream, cold
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
  • 1/3 cup sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in chilled butter until mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
  4. Stir in sprinkles and refrigerate the mixture.
  5. Whisk together cream, egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed; avoid overmixing.
  7. Shape dough into a circle on the prepared baking sheet and freeze for 1-2 hours.
  8. Slice into 8 triangles, brush with heavy cream, and bake for 20-22 minutes until golden.
