  • 4 (6-ounce) skin-on salmon filets
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine all spices in a bowl.
  2. Pat salmon filets dry; brush with melted butter or oil.
  3. Generously coat both sides of salmon with the spice mix.
  4. Heat cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Add remaining butter or oil and place salmon skin-side down in the skillet.
  6. Cook for 4–5 minutes until crispy; flip gently and cook for another 3–4 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with parsley before serving.
