  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp (25 g) granulated white sugar
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (112 g) unsalted butter, very softened
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) heavy cream
  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 1/2 cup (112 g) unsalted butter, very softened
  • 1 cup (220 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/3 cup (116 g) honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp (84 g) unsalted butter, very softened
  • 6 oz (170 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup (97 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • pinch of cloves

Instructions

  1. Warm milk to 110°F (43°C), combine with yeast and sugar. Let sit until bubbly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, spices, salt, and sugar. Add the yeast mixture along with eggs and vanilla; mix until combined.
  3. Knead the dough using a stand mixer for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the filling mixture evenly over it.
  6. Roll up tightly from one end to form a log and slice into rolls.
  7. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. While cooling, prepare the frosting by mixing all ingredients until smooth.
  10. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
