  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 egg (only the white)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 Tbsp orange zest
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil (for pan-frying)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 0.2 oz ginger (minced)

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine cornstarch, soy sauce, and egg white; coat the chicken.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking powder; gradually add water to create a batter.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Coat marinated chicken in batter; fry in batches until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
  5. In a saucepan, combine orange juice, zest, soy sauce, sugar, and seasonings; cook until thickened.
  6. Toss fried chicken in the sauce and serve over rice or noodles.
