Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar until smooth. Allow cooling slightly before adding eggs and vanilla; whisk until glossy.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Fold this into the wet ingredients gently until combined. Stir in chocolate chips if desired.
