  • 8 ounces uncooked bucatini pasta
  • 6 strips turkey bacon, chopped
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth or dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Italian seasoning, lemon juice, flour, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a pot. Cook the pasta until al dente; drain.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, fry turkey bacon until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. Sauté sliced mushrooms in the same skillet for about 5-6 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  5. Remove mushrooms; add chicken broth (or wine), seasonings, lemon juice, flour, and mustard to the skillet. Stir for one minute.
  6. Pour in heavy cream; simmer for about 2 minutes until thickened.
  7. Return mushrooms and turkey bacon to the skillet; combine well with cooked pasta.
