Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cod fillets (56 oz each)
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1½ tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Make the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Fish: Place cod fillets in a shallow dish or resealable bag; pour marinade over fish and let sit for 15–30 minutes.
  3. Cook the Cod: To Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place cod on parchment-lined baking dish. Bake for 12–15 minutes until fish flakes easily. To Pan-Sear: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook cod for 3–4 minutes per side, spooning extra marinade over top while cooking.
  4. Serve: Drizzle optional thickened glaze over cod if desired and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
