  • ¼ c soy sauce
  • 3 T brown sugar
  • 1 c water, divided
  • 2 T honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated or minced)
  • 2 T corn starch
  • 1 T orange zest
  • 1 lb Turkey
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 c broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small onion (small diced)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • salt and pepper to taste (as desired)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, ginger, and half the water; whisk until blended. In another bowl, combine the remaining water with cornstarch; mix until smooth. Combine both mixtures and add orange zest; set aside.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey seasoned with salt and pepper; cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in diced onion, shredded carrots, and broccoli florets; stir-fry for another 5-7 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the turkey and veggies; stir continuously for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
