  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ⅓ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked rice or noodles (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by whisking together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry; set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat and sauté diced onion for about 2 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Add broccoli florets and ¼ cup of water to the pan. Cover to steam for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender yet crisp.

  5. Serve over cooked rice or noodles if desired, garnishing with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
