  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 5 oz evaporated milk
  • 14 oz caramels
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter, sugars, and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Spread half of the dough into a greased 9×13 inch pan and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Melt caramels with evaporated milk in a double boiler until smooth; stir in peanut butter.
  7. Pour the caramel mixture over the baked layer and drop remaining dough spoonfuls on top.
  8. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
