Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (optional for heat)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 46 burger buns (or sandwich rolls)
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions (for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook for 2-3 minutes until soft.
  3. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, gochujang (if using), ketchup, and grated ginger. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  4. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water before adding it to the mixture. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture onto toasted burger buns and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
