  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, uncooked rice, diced onion, egg, garlic powder, soy sauce, parsley, and ground pepper. Mix well.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 2 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 8-10 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce, water, dark brown sugar, garlic powder, kosher salt, and ground pepper.
  5. Pour the sauce over the browned meatballs and simmer covered for 45-50 minutes on low heat until cooked through.
