  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¾ cup raw honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • Optional glaze: 2 tbsp honey
  • Optional glaze: 2 tbsp orange juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking pan.
  2. Whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in one bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, honey, and eggs. Stir in orange juice, zest, and grated ginger.
  4. Fold the dry mixture into the wet until just combined—do not overmix!
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For added flavor, brush with the optional honey-orange glaze while warm.
