  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp black cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp instant dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreos
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp fine salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp whole milk
  • 1 tsp artificial vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm, then combine with yeast in a mixing bowl. Let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Add egg and softened butter to the yeast mixture; mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture and knead until smooth.
  5. Allow dough to rise in a greased bowl (about 1 hour).
  6. Roll out the dough, spread softened butter, sprinkle crushed Oreos, roll tightly into a log, and cut into pieces.
  7. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again (30 minutes). Bake at 350°F for about 26 minutes.
  8. Prepare glaze by whisking powdered sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.
