  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter and confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy. Add peppermint extract.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the creamed butter.
  3. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheets.
  5. Bake for 9-11 minutes until lightly golden on the bottoms. Allow to cool completely on wire racks.
  6. Prepare frosting by beating softened butter until creamy, then gradually mix in confectioners' sugar, milk, and peppermint extract until smooth.
  7. Frost cooled cookies and garnish with crushed peppermint candies.
