  • 1 clove garlic (mashed and diced)

  • 1 tablespoon Better Than Bouillon Chicken Base
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk (whole milk preferred)
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (for garnish)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a stock pot, combine diced potatoes, carrots, garlic, water, chicken base, parsley, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until tender.
  2. Remove from heat and mash the vegetables to your desired texture.
  3. In another pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a roux, then gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  4. Once the white sauce is bubbling gently, mix it into the mashed vegetables.
