  • ½ tsp grated nutmeg
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup porridge oats
  • 125 g butter (cold)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C/375F.
  2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces. Place them in a baking pan and add flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cold butter, and salt. Rub together until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the topping over the apple mixture evenly.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
