Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)
  • 2 cups chicken or beef broth
  • 1 tbsp gochugaru
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise (Kewpie preferred)
  • 1 tbsp sriracha or Korean chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of sugar (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp toasted black sesame seeds
  • Optional: extra chili oil or gochugaru

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, and black pepper. Add the ribeye or sirloin steak to the mixture and ensure it is well coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes. For best results, let it marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. In another small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sriracha or Korean chili sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and optional sugar. Whisk until smooth. Cover and chill in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  3. In a pot over medium heat, bring your choice of chicken or beef broth to a simmer. Stir in gochugaru, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and salt. Once simmering gently add the instant ramen noodles. Cook until al dente (about 3 minutes). Remove from heat once cooked.
  4. Heat your grill pan or skillet over high heat. Sear the marinated beef for about 2–3 minutes on each side until caramelized. Allow it to rest for a few moments before slicing against the grain into thin strips.
  5. To serve, place cooked noodles in bowls and ladle over hot broth. Top with slices of grilled beef followed by generous dollops of creamy sauce. Finish with chopped green onions and toasted black sesame seeds. If you like extra spice, drizzle some additional chili oil or sprinkle more gochugaru on top!
