  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • Spices: chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and chop vegetables.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground meat for 5–7 minutes.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper; sauté until softened (3–4 minutes). Stir in garlic for another minute.
  4. Combine all remaining ingredients in the pot and stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover partially and simmer for about 45 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed before serving hot with your favorite toppings.
