  • 1 dash salt
  • 30 soft caramel candies
  • 4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • â…“ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup salted butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Freeze the pie crust while preparing the filling.
  3. Toss sliced apples with lemon juice in a bowl.
  4. Mix in sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  5. Melt caramels with heavy cream in the microwave until smooth.
  6. Stir one-third of caramel into the apple mixture; reserve remaining caramel.
  7. Assemble apples in the chilled pie crust and dot with butter.
  8. Top with crumble made from flour, brown sugar, and butter.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown; cover if browning too quickly.
  10. Cool before serving and drizzle with reserved caramel.
