Classic Christmas Toffee is the ultimate holiday treat, blending buttery toffee, crunchy nuts, and rich chocolate. This simple yet indulgent recipe captures the spirit of the season, making it perfect for gifting, festive gatherings, or cozy nights in.

  • 1 cup chopped pecans or almonds
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate chips (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and salt. Stir over medium heat until mixed.
  3. Bring to a boil. Use a candy thermometer to reach 300°F (hard crack stage), stirring continuously.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and half of the chopped nuts.
  5. Pour onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  6. Allow to cool completely before melting chocolate chips and pouring over the toffee.
  7. Sprinkle remaining nuts on top and let set before breaking into pieces.
