  • 14 oz boneless white fish
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (regular and panko)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp parsley, dried
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder or cayenne
  • 7/8 tsp paprika, smoked
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 pinch salt
  • 1 neutral oil
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Cut the fish into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, parsley, black pepper, chili powder (or cayenne), paprika, red pepper flakes, and salt.
  3. Whisk together the egg and lemon juice in another bowl.
  4. Set up an assembly line with flour first, egg mixture next, followed by breadcrumbs.
  5. Coat each fish piece in flour, dip into the egg mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry until golden brown (about 3–4 minutes per side) or bake at 400°F for 15–20 minutes.
